This High Performance Home in Taupō, NZ was built using passive design principles, carefully oriented to capture maximum solar gains and natural light. The home steps beyond traditional design by using building orientation, window placement, and insulation to optimize warmth and comfort without relying heavily on heating.
Even in the extremely cold Taupō winters, this home had an $80 in power bill over a total of 3 years.
